Eleanor Roosevelt

My idol, Eleanor Roosevelt, often referred to as co-president, never did sit by during her husband's presidency. She addressed the nation in her fireside chats and lobbied for women's rights. As intelligent as any man in politics and as compassionate as any woman, she was a testament to the role of women in politics. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, it was she who first confirmed the atrocity and pled with the mothers of the nation to support and pray for all the young men, who would go off to war.
It was Eleanor Roosevelt, and other brave women, both before and after her legacy, that paved the way for the women of today and tomorrow.
